The Pie Run(June 14, 2009)
This was Mark’s idea & what an idea!!
Sunday rideouts that are planned the day before are usually the best aren’t they? A quick ring round saw 8 bikes set off in glorious sunshine to The Pie Shop in West Brom – I was severely chastised by Ken as he thought he was going to Wolverhampton & as a lifelong Wolves fan & sporting his colours underneath his jacket was not best pleased to be in enemy territory!!
Anyway, TOM TOM managed to get us there with no hiccups at all (most unusual), and lunch was taken outside in the sunshine. Strangely, Mark & Chop struggled to finish their Desperate Dan pies – can’t think why…….
Tina was far more restrained & delicately polished her off!!
After lunch, we set off to find the Crooked House pub, and true to form, TOM TOM thought, “Ahhh, Hogs Bollocks rideout, lets have some fun!!” Following several aborted attempts to find this pub in a cul de sac on a housing estate, Paul took charge, 10 minutes later here we were….
After a quick liquid refreshment, we got back to Wolverhampton to catch the last ½ hour opening of the Harley dealership, where we all spent our imaginary money ( & Bev spent Mark’s actual money!).
Setting off home, we all agreed that we “really must do more of this”, a great day out, the weather helped, but just being out on the bikes with yer mates was great.
Well done Alex for getting home with a poorly bike – hope it is fixed soon.
